With the warmer weather and the bank holiday approaching, please remember:

🚫 Do not swim in lakes, rivers, or canals

While it may look inviting, open water can be extremely dangerous:

Cold water shock can affect breathing and swimming ability

Strong currents and unseen hazards are common

Water depth can change and debris may be hidden

It can be very difficult to get out once you’re in

✅ Stay safe by enjoying the weather in designated and supervised swimming areas only.

👨‍👩‍👧 Parents and guardians – please keep an eye on children and remind them of the risks.

If you see someone in trouble in the water, call 999 immediately.
